Confront the ultimate test of winter self-sufficiency at The Drift 100, a 103-mile expedition through the remote, high-altitude wilderness of Wyoming's Wind River Range from March 13-15, 2026. This is not a typical ultra; it's a qualifier-mandated journey where racers must be prepared for deep snow, temperatures down to -39°F, relentless wind, and complete isolation, with checkpoints up to 25 miles apart and no cell service. With over 9,000 feet of elevation change, the course traverses the Continental Divide on a mix of the CDT and forest trails, demanding expert navigation, proven winter survival skills, and absolute mental fortitude. Acceptance is earned, not bought, requiring demonstration of serious winter expedition experience. Here, your gear is your lifeline, your resolve is your fuel, and the pristine, formidable landscape is your only companion. This is the pure, uncompromising essence of winter ultrarunning, designed for those who seek not just to race, but to undertake a true wilderness odyssey.
