The Edmond Downtown Crit, part of Cycle 66's prestigious race series, promises an exhilarating experience for cyclists from all categories. This year’s championship will take place on October 3rd in downtown Edmond at the vibrant intersection of 1st and Broadway. Race organizers have meticulously planned a schedule to cater to various skill levels: juniors kick off proceedings at 9:00 AM, followed by masters 40+ at 9:30 AM. The kids' race takes place from 10:30 AM onwards, ensuring that the youngest participants get their fair share of fun and excitement. For competitive cyclists, there are several categories to choose from including women’s 4/5 (starting at 11:00 AM), men’s 4/5 (at 11:50 AM), women’s 1/2/3 (from 12:45 PM), and the concluding men's races, with a 1/2 race starting at 1:45 PM and the final men’s 3 category set for 3:25 PM. Registration is open until October 3rd at 6:00 PM via BikeReg. A one-day license for novice racers costs $15 and can be purchased online or on-site during packet pickup, which runs from Saturday morning through race day start times. Racers are advised to collect their packets either at Frenzy Brewing Co., located at 15 S Broadway in Edmond, or directly from the event venue. The course is a thrilling 1.25 km loop with two smooth asphalt lanes running counter-clockwise around downtown Edmond’s picturesque streets. Participants will enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the city's core while navigating through its historic architecture and bustling shops. USA Cycling sanctions this race under permit #14708, ensuring all rules are strictly enforced for a fair competition. A valid USAC license is required; novice racers can purchase one-day licenses if needed. The event will adhere to strict zero-tolerance policies regarding misconduct, maintaining the integrity of the sport. Self-transfer via BikeReg is allowed until October 3rd at midnight. However, Cycle 66 reserves the right to cancel or reschedule due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, every effort will be made to re-schedule; otherwise, no refunds will be issued. For those with younger participants, USAC-licensed juniors (ages 6–14) can compete in their respective categories for $15 each. Kids aged 10 and under are invited to ride the loop free of charge during designated race times.
