The Cache Slam

About the Event

The Cache Slam returns to Logan, Utah on September 26th, uniting runners from across the region for a unique challenge that spans three distinct races: Logan Peak, White Pine 50, and the Bear 100. Each of these trail ultras is intricately linked by geography, sharing trails and serving as training grounds for one another.
The event takes place in some of Utah’s most scenic landscapes, with each race starting or ending at Hyrum Gibbons Park in Logan. On race day, runners will face a diverse range of terrain—from steep ascents to rolling hills—each offering its own set of challenges and rewards. The atmosphere is typically one of camaraderie and mutual respect among competitors who come together for this endurance test.
Established as an inaugural event in 2026, the Cache Slam aims to celebrate the rich tradition of trail running in northern Utah while supporting local charities through participant fees from each race. With its roots deeply embedded in the community's love for long-distance trail races, the Cache Slam is quickly becoming a cornerstone event among ultra runners and marathon enthusiasts alike.
The course for the Cache Slam traverses some of Logan’s most challenging yet beautiful trails. Runners will navigate varied terrain that includes rocky paths, dense forests, and open meadows, all while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The trail conditions are expected to be firm with a slight softness underfoot, providing both grip and cushioning for long-distance runs.
Race day weather in Logan typically features moderate temperatures between 9.5°C and 25.6°C, often feeling like around 17.6°C due to low humidity levels of about 51%. Winds are generally light at an average speed of 5.7 km/h, offering little resistance but plenty of fresh air for the runners. Rainfall is minimal with only a trace amount expected on race day.
