Breathe in the energy of the morning as runners gather at the starting line, preparing for an inspiring day ahead at this annual race. Registration begins at 7:30 am with lively music and a Zumba warm-up session to get everyone moving and excited about the run that lies ahead. Participants can enjoy pre-race snacks while meeting friends, family members, and teammates in a festive atmosphere.
The race kicks off promptly at 8:30 am with a shot gun start for runners followed by walkers, ensuring an enthusiastic and spirited beginning to the event. The route is designed to challenge participants of all levels through scenic paths that highlight local landmarks and natural beauty.
After crossing the finish line, athletes will be greeted immediately with awards ceremonies celebrating individual achievements as well as team efforts. Medals are awarded to the top three overall male, female, and binary runners, along with top three in each 10-year age group ranging from ages one through seventy and beyond. This recognition not only honors exceptional performances but also fosters a sense of community among participants.
Proceeds raised during this event support Livestrong at the YMCA, an invaluable program for cancer survivors offering no-cost recovery services to help them regain strength, confidence, and much more in their journey towards healing.
