The 12th Humboldt Bay Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K

Join the vibrant running community of Humboldt County for an unforgettable race along the Eureka Waterfront Trail and Humboldt Bay Trail. This flat, fast course offers runners ideal conditions on August 8th, with early morning temperatures hovering around the low to mid-50s under overcast skies—perfect for setting a new personal record or qualifying time.
The half marathon route features an elevation gain of less than 100 feet, making it incredibly runnable. The highest point along both courses is just shy of 20 feet above sea level, ensuring that runners will enjoy smooth and steady progress throughout the event. New in 2027, a recently repaved half-mile section between J Street and T Street adds to the scenic bayfront experience past Woodley Island Marina.
A highlight for many participants are the lively aid stations, which add energy and camaraderie to the race day atmosphere. With options for marathon, half marathon, and 5K distances, there's a perfect fit for every runner looking to challenge themselves or simply enjoy a fun run along Humboldt Bay’s picturesque shoreline.
The event is organized by the Humboldt Bay Marathon nonprofit organization, committed to promoting fitness, outdoor recreation, and trail development in Humboldt County. All proceeds from this race are donated to local nonprofits that share similar goals.
