Thank Gravel It's Friday: Far Out Gravel Adventure Series - Ride #2
About the Event
TGIF Far Out Gravel Adventure Series returns for its fifth year on July 25th and August 29th, inviting riders to explore the scenic mountains around Boulder, Colorado. This free-entry gravel ride offers two thrilling routes designed to cater to both seasoned adventurers and those looking for a challenging yet rewarding experience. The Spicy Route spans approximately 50 miles with over 7,000 feet of elevation gain, offering technical singletrack trails, historic mining paths, and rugged unnamed roads that will test your limits. For the ultra-endurance enthusiasts, there's the Far-Out Route stretching about 100 miles with more than 10,000 feet of climbing. Both routes promise a day filled with breathtaking vistas, challenging climbs, and exhilarating descents. Riders are encouraged to embrace the spirit of adventure by dressing up in their best '80s costumes for added fun and flair at the finish line festivities. Each route features checkpoints marked with pink ribbons; participants must collect pages from these checkpoints and submit them upon finishing to receive a custom TGIF top cap as well as entry into the raffle. The day starts bright and early at Giordana Pop-up, where riders can fuel up on coffee, pastries, and pre-ride camaraderie. The adventure culminates back in Boulder with an after-party at Upslope Brewery, offering a lively atmosphere for sharing stories and enjoying cold beers while the raffle kicks off at 6pm. Beyond being just another ride, TGIF Far Out is about much more than cycling—it's about community support and mental health awareness. This year, proceeds from donations will go directly to Ride for Hope, an initiative aimed at providing essential mental health services in Colorado regardless of financial barriers. By participating or making a donation starting at $30, you're not just joining a ride but contributing to a cause that aims to make help accessible and affordable for everyone facing tough times. Join us this summer for what promises to be the most memorable edition yet—where every pedal stroke is an act of solidarity towards building stronger communities.
