Nearly 40,000 infants in the U.S. are born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) every year. CHD is the most common birth defect and the leading cause of infant death due to birth defects. Team CHD-Illinois is a non-profit with a mission to uplift and comfort patients and their families during their CHD journey We are accomplishing this through collaboration with patients, parents, providers, and partner organizations to improve quality and outcomes through CHD education, support, research, and awareness. We are unique in our approach – encompassing the lifespan, encouraging transparency, and meeting families where they are. Our volunteer team has supported local heart families in Illinois since 2011, through comfort care bags/kits, bereavement boxes, support meetings, family fun events, and so much more. Team CHD-IL is run 100% by volunteer leaders that are heart parents, patients, and family members. 

REGISTRATION:

Registration is $25 (registration includes walk shirt if registered BEFORE April 18th)

FREE walk/run for children under 16 (*no free shirt for unpaid registrations)

Register online BEFORE April 18th to receive a Team CHD IL walk t-shirt. Free shirt for paid registrations only. (After April 18th you can purchase a walk shirt for $20.)

DETAILS:

Strollers, wagons & motorized scooters are welcomed
Dogs welcomed to join walk (don't forget your pet waste bags please)
Personalized heart warrior lawn sign available for purchase at time of online registration (shirt pick-up at event registration table via Team Captain & lawn signs will be displayed at event and can be taken home at the end of the day)
Parking: The back lot near Mongolian BBQ and Bass Pro Shop
All are invited to join before the walk for festivities including: pictures, face painting, balloon making, crafts, and more!

**This is a walking event only course is approximately 1 mile

EVENT SCHEDULE:

9:00am - Registration/Donation tent open (day-of registrants & Team Captain check in)
10:00am - Acknowledgements & Bereaved Hearts Remembrance
10:30am - Walk Kickoff

*TOP FUNDRAISING TEAM will receive VIP Tent the day of the walk with refreshments!
