Martinique is an overseas department of France located in the Lesser Antilles, with a population of approximately 375,000 residents. The island's economy is centered around agriculture (bananas and sugar), rum production, and a robust tourism sector. The demographic profile is primarily of African and mixed European-African descent, with a vibrant culture that blends French and Caribbean traditions. The median household income is approximately €23,000. The race highlights the diverse geography of the north, dominated by Mount Pelée, an active volcano that provides some of the most technical and steep trail running opportunities in the Atlantic.
Registration for the 2026 edition remains open until midnight on May 1st, with entry fees ranging from €30 for the shortest distance to €135 for the Ultra Trail. Bib collection is scheduled for May 6th and 7th at the Peugeot dealership. Participants must provide a valid medical certificate or PPS (Parcours Prévention Santé) to compete. The 103 km Ultra and the 51 km Pelée races both start at 5:00 AM in Basse Pointe, requiring runners to be born in 2006 or earlier.
