Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Bengal's monsoon landscape as you embark on Tamralipta Ultra, an extraordinary endurance journey organized by Dquests Adventure Sports Academy. This unique long-distance running event follows historic river routes from Tamluk to Haldia along the banks of the Rupnarayan and Hooghly rivers, weaving through a setting steeped in ancient history and natural beauty.
The race begins at Tamralipta, an ancient maritime port that once played a pivotal role in India’s historical narrative. Here, runners will traverse paths associated with revered travelers like Xuanzang (Hiuen Tsang), the legacy of Emperor Ashoka, and the teachings of Lord Buddha. The route also honors the Quit India Movement's spirit through sites significant to freedom fighters such as Matangini Hazra.
Tamralipta Ultra offers three challenging race categories: 50K, 75K, and 100K, each with its own cut-off times designed to test your endurance in varying capacities. Participants must collect their bibs and attend a mandatory briefing on September 19th from noon until four o'clock at the starting point near Tamluk.
The race itself commences early morning on September 20th, providing runners ample time to navigate through monsoon conditions while enjoying scenic vistas along riverbanks and historic sites. The event includes hydration stations, aid points, a drop bag facility, and official timing support, ensuring that participants receive the necessary assistance throughout their journey.
Mandatory gear for each category ensures safety during this challenging race: reusable water bottles or hydration vests, rain jackets, running shoes, electrolytes, and basic first-aid kits. Participants are also advised to bring anti-chafing cream, caps or visors, extra socks, sunscreen, and waterproof pouches for their phones.
By participating in Tamralipta Ultra 2026, runners agree to the event's terms and conditions which emphasize personal responsibility while acknowledging that race organizers reserve rights to modify routes due to unforeseen circumstances. The event is non-refundable unless officially canceled by Dquests Adventure Sports Academy.
