Welcome to the unique and fun race experience of Dalhem and Roma! This unconventional running event invites both seasoned competitors and curious fitness enthusiasts alike. Scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, participants will begin their journey aboard a museum train departing from Hesselby station in Dalhem. Upon arrival at Roma Kungsgård after approximately twenty minutes of scenic travel on the historic railcar, runners will make their way to the starting line near the ruins of Roma Kloster. The route follows Pilgrimsleden—a trail meticulously maintained by Roma Church Pastoral—and leads back towards Hesselby station in Dalhem. The race is an approximate 6.3-kilometer journey through beautiful countryside and historic sites, allowing runners to set their own pace along this picturesque path. For those looking for a post-race shower or refreshments, facilities are available at the IP center in Dalhem. Participants can collect their bib numbers from Hesselby Jernvägscafe by 9:15 AM on race day and must pre-register online; entry fees of 300 SEK include transportation via museum train. The event is a collaboration between Roma Hembygdsförening, Dalhem Sockenförening, Roma IF, Dalhem IF, and Roma Church Pastoral. At the finish line in Hesselbacke station, participants can pick up any items left at the ruins earlier on their journey. Prizes will be awarded to both male and female runners who cross the finish line first, as well as additional prizes drawn randomly from among those registered, sponsored by local businesses in Dalhem and Roma. Please note that participation is strictly voluntary, with all participants responsible for ensuring safe travel between start and end points, adhering to traffic regulations at crossings. Medical personnel will be on site should any assistance be needed during the event. Registration cancellations are not refundable but can be transferred via Mittlopp.se if necessary. This charming race offers a delightful blend of history, nature, and community spirit for all runners who wish to partake in this memorable experience.
