St. Charles Blue Line Family 5K

The St. Charles Blue Line Family 5K returns to St. Charles, Missouri on July 18th, 2026. This inaugural event promises a unique running experience that isn't just about hitting the pavement but exploring various terrains within and around the family arena. Participants will start in the parking lot of the Family Arena, making their way through the venue’s large lot before ascending stairs to the stadium concourse. The course then takes runners back inside for an indoor lap before exiting into the Katy Trail that runs behind the venue.
Race morning finds St. Charles bracing itself with a blend of natural and artificial landscapes. Families can expect a mix of parking lots, trails, and stadium surfaces underfoot as they prepare to run through this multi-terrain course. The Family Arena adds an extra layer of excitement by allowing spectators to cheer runners not just at the start/finish line but throughout their journey.
This event is more than a race; it's a celebration of community spirit and support for local law enforcement, with proceeds benefiting St. Charles County Police Blue Line initiatives that aim to keep families safe. Over 300 participants are expected, making this an exciting day out on the trails and inside the arena.
The course itself offers several notable features, including its multi-terrain layout which combines pavement, trail, stairs, and indoor stadium concourse. Runners will start in the Family Arena parking lot before heading into the venue for a lap around the stadium’s concourses. The route then takes runners back out onto the Katy Trail that runs behind the arena for an out-and-back section before re-entering the parking lot to finish where they started.
