Spunch! is an innovative, family-friendly treasure hunt that transforms the concept of running into a unique mini-adventure for all ages and skill levels. Organized by Running Bear from their Alderley Edge shop, this exciting event invites participants to explore over 60 SpunchPoints scattered across various terrains using the MapRun app on smartphones or smartwatches.
Participants can choose between run or walk options with distances ranging from a leisurely 2 kilometers up to an adventurous 22 kilometers. The flexibility doesn't stop there, as you'll have three different course durations to pick from: 60 minutes, 90 minutes, and 120 minutes—decisions are made on the spot during registration.
The event takes place in Alderley Edge's picturesque setting where runners will encounter a mix of road and off-road trails. The terrain includes both hilly sections and flatter stretches to cater to various fitness levels and preferences. As you navigate through this enchanting landscape, be prepared for an evening that transitions from daylight into twilight as the sun sets at 6:00 PM.
Registration opens early in the afternoon at 5:30 PM, allowing participants ample time to get familiar with their surroundings before starting between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash for safety reasons. The event is designed to support newcomers, offering assistance throughout.
Post-event refreshments will be available near the venue after you've completed your adventure.
