Springfield Striders - Pleshey & Essex Half Marathon

Champion your passion for running on the stunning rural landscapes of Essex at our annual half marathon, scheduled for Sunday, 13th September 2026. This race is an integral part of the prestigious Essex Championship Grand Prix Series, offering a unique blend of competition and camaraderie.
The event unfolds along quiet country roads that wind through the picturesque village of Pleshey, near Chelmsford. The figure-of-eight route covers approximately 13.1 miles, providing runners with breathtaking views and challenging terrain. Throughout the course, you'll encounter four water stations where cups filled with refreshing water will be available to help keep you hydrated.
For those who qualify as members of UK Athletics or have been residents in Essex for at least nine months, this race offers an additional layer of excitement by participating in the Essex Championship category without any extra cost. The chance to win a coveted Essex Medal is just one more reason to join us. Both individual and team medals are up for grabs, making it even more rewarding.
Upon crossing the finish line, you'll receive not only your official race medal but also a unique commemorative T-shirt designed exclusively for this event. Following the race, there will be presentations of Essex Medals for all category winners in a celebratory atmosphere that honors both individual and team achievements.
