Southeast Section 99s 5K Walk - Run

WHO WE ARE:   Southeast Section of Ninety-Nines Inc. ®.  Our Section has 23 chapters, each promoting the advancement of aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support while honoring our unique history and sharing our passion for flight.  The Ninety-Nines Inc. ® is an international organization of women pilots from 40+ countries with thousands of members worldwide. We are a non-profit, charitable membership corporation holding 501(c)(3) U.S. tax status with our international headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Airline, industry, and government pilots
Astronauts and aviation performers
Aviators who teach
Pilots who fly for pleasure
Technicians, mechanics, and professionals who love to fly
From students to experienced pilots, we continuously earn new ratings and endorsements. But first and foremost, Ninety-Nines are women who love to fly!  

OUR PURPOSE:  The proceeds from this 5K will fund our chapter scholarships, which all share the same goal: to promote aviation for women of all ages and backgrounds by providing aviation scholarships that assist with expenses related to learning to fly or to further one's training. 

WHO CAN WALK-RUN:  This event is open to anyone of any age, gender, and skill level who would like to contribute to the future of women pilots. You may complete the 5K Walk-Run anytime, day or night.  You may walk, jog, run, or any combination.  You can complete the 5K in your neighborhood, on a trail, on a treadmill, at the mall, or anywhere you choose.  Bonus points for walking at or near an airport! Everyone can participate regardless of skill level because you can split the 5K into smaller increments, spread it out over time, or complete it all at once.  You choose whether to track or not to track. It’s your 5K; do it creatively, with friends and family, or go solo.  It is about getting out there and moving while supporting aviation scholarships. 

WHAT TO DO: 

Register for the virtual 5k on runsignup.com
Your team will be whichever Southeast Section Chapter you wish to support.
Complete your 5k between October 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027.

VIRTUAL RUN TIPS: 

Be safe
Sign up as a family or with a group of friends
Join the team that represents the chapter you wish to support
Plan a route if you complete the 5k outdoors
Complete the 5k when it works for you
Bring your phone for safety and photos
Wear good, supportive athletic shoes
Bring water to stay hydrated
Have fun!

Participants will receive a custom-designed iron-on patch of their choice.
