Soup-In-The-Snow

Embrace the pure, community-driven spirit of winter trail running at Soup-In-The-Snow set for Saturday, 7 February 2026 at the Palisades Creek Trailhead in Irwin, Idaho. This beloved, free 11th-annual event, organized by the Idaho Falls Trail Runners, is a challenging 8.6-mile out-and-back group run to Lower Palisades Lake through deep snow and 1,000 feet of elevation gain, starting at 8:30 AM. True to its name, the day centers around a post-run potluck feast where runners share soups, breads, and desserts, fostering deep camaraderie in a stunning snowy wilderness.

With no entry fee, prizes, or aid stations, the focus is entirely on shared adventure, self-sufficiency, and the joy of running together in winter.
