Sound Steps for Mental Health Recovery 5K Walk/Run 2026

Sound Steps invites participants to join its annual 5K walk/run on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The event is set to take place at Cove Island Park, located at 1125 Cove Road in Stamford, Connecticut. Whether you're a seasoned runner or prefer walking at your own pace, this community-focused race offers something for everyone dedicated to mental health recovery.
The course winds through the scenic pathways of Cove Island Park, offering runners and walkers breathtaking views of the surrounding area while promoting physical activity as part of overall wellness. The event aims to raise awareness about mental health issues and support those on their journey towards recovery by fostering a supportive community atmosphere.
Participants can look forward to competitive elements with medals awarded to the top two male and female finishers in both overall standings and seven different age categories, ensuring recognition for runners across various ages and abilities. Additionally, all participants who cross the finish line within the first 100 spots will receive commemorative finisher's medals.
Race day activities include a pre-race warm-up led by fitness professionals to help ensure everyone is ready to start strong at 9:30AM sharp. Post-race festivities will continue until noon, with refreshments and opportunities for participants to connect further within the supportive community environment.
