Slopeside Slumber Party

The Slopeside Slumber Party returns to Lewisberry, Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 as a unique night running event featuring loops around Roundtop Mountain Resort. Participants will navigate ~1.5 miles of challenging terrain that includes both paved and grassy paths with significant elevation gain. The main course loop is designed for trail runners seeking an adventurous evening under the stars.
On race day, attendees can expect to park near the base lodge at Roundtop Mountain Resort where they'll begin their journey around 8 PM. Runners will start on a flat section of pavement before tackling a steep climb up Minuteman and Upper Lafayette slopes. The descent back down Ramrod/Exhibition slope is fully lit for nighttime visibility, offering runners an illuminated challenge as well as spectators the thrill of watching participants race downhill in the dark.
The Slopeside Slumber Party has been held annually since 2016, with each iteration attracting around 150 adult competitors and up to 40 young racers aged 12 and under. The event raises funds for local community projects at Roundtop Mountain Resort while providing a memorable experience for runners of all ages who enjoy the thrill of night racing combined with scenic mountain views.
The course winds through parts of Roundtop Mountain Resort, starting from the base lodge next to Exhibition slope where participants can set up their gear and get ready. The loop consists of 0.5 miles on pavement across parking lots and paved walkways followed by a climb that gains 600 feet in elevation over another half mile. Runners then descend back down Ramrod/Exhibition for the final leg, encountering firm but slightly soft trail conditions underfoot.
In August at Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, temperatures typically hover between 75°F to 82°F (around 24°C to 28°C) by late evening when the race begins. The UV index is expected to be high around 7.0, so participants should prepare with appropriate sun protection and hydration strategies.
The Slopeside Slumber Party offers a Kids Race for younger runners as well as an adult event that challenges competitors to complete as many loops as they dare within three hours. Each lap earns racers a pog while top performers receive slammers at the finish line.

Bib collection takes place on-site near the start line at Roundtop Mountain Resort where entrants can collect their materials and confirm participation requirements. All runners must be ready by 7:30 PM for the kids' event to begin promptly as scheduled.
