Sinister 7 Ultra

Blairmore, Alberta. The Crowsnest Pass. Seven Sisters Mountain. Western Canada's biggest trail race returns on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Sinister 7 Ultra offers 100‑mile solo or relay (teams of up to 7), 50‑mile, 50k, half marathon, and a kids race. 30‑hour cutoff for 100‑milers. The course is split into seven stages, each featuring a geographic and historic highlight of the area — named after the treacherous Seven Sisters Mountain that looms over much of the course. Location — Crowsnest Pass, Alberta:

• Blairmore is a town in the Crowsnest Pass region of southwestern Alberta, near the British Columbia border
• The Crowsnest Pass is a historic mountain pass through the Rocky Mountains, known for coal mining history, the Frank Slide (deadliest landslide in Canadian history, 1903), and world‑class trail running
• Seven Sisters Mountain is a prominent peak (2,745 m / 9,006 ft) that overlooks the race course — the "Sinister 7" name refers to its seven summits
• The course uses a network of trails, old mining roads, and mountain ridges with significant elevation gain and technical terrain

Course Stages — 100‑Mile (Seven Stages):

• Stage 1: Blairmore to Crowsnest Mountain — ~13 km
• Stage 2: Crowsnest Mountain to High Rock — ~16 km
• Stage 3: High Rock to Seven Sisters — ~18 km
• Stage 4: Seven Sisters to Bushtown — ~22 km (the longest stage)
• Stage 5: Bushtown to York Creek — ~15 km
• Stage 6: York Creek to Coal Creek — ~12 km
• Stage 7: Coal Creek to Blairmore finish — ~10 km
• Total: approximately 100 miles (160 km) with 6,500‑7,000 m elevation gain

Relay Teams (100‑mile only):

• Teams of 2 to 7 runners
• Each runner completes one or more stages
• Team captain registers first; teammates join individually using team name and access code
• Categories: male, female, mixed, corporate, etc.

• Chip timing (split times at each stage/checkpoint)

• Saturday, July 11:
  — 7:00 AM — 100‑mile start (Downtown Blairmore)
  — 7:30 AM — 50k start (Downtown Blairmore)
  — 7:30 AM — 50‑mile late check‑in (Coleman Sports Complex)
  — 10:30 AM — 50‑mile start (west of Bushtown, Coleman)
  — 1:00 PM — Kids Race start (ISS field / TA2)
  — 9:00 PM — 50k course closes
• Sunday, July 12:
  — 9:00 AM — Breakfast begins (Coleman Sports Complex)
  — 10:00 AM — Post‑race brunch starts
  — 10:00 AM — 50‑mile and 50k awards (Coleman Sports Complex)
  — 10:30 AM — 50‑mile course closes
  — 1:00 PM — 100‑mile course closes + race ends
  — 1:15 PM — 100‑mile awards

Logistics:

• Parking available in Blairmore and Coleman (arrive early — limited spaces)
• Shuttle buses transport relay runners to exchange zones (check schedule in Racer Information Package)
• Bag drop available at start/finish and select aid stations
• Camping available near the race venue (check local campgrounds — Crowsnest Pass has several options)
• No refunds? Check race website — likely no refunds after June 17 (11th Hour pricing from June 18‑26)
• No dogs allowed on course (wildlife and safety)
