Silver Sands Coastal Trail Race

Silver Sands Coastal Trail Race at Aberdour, scheduled for Sunday, 4th October 2026, invites runners to experience one of Scotland’s most picturesque coastal routes. Starting promptly at 11:00am, this race offers a stunning journey along the Fife Coastal Path between Silver Sands and Burntisland.
The course is an out-and-back route spanning approximately four miles, featuring well-established trails that are both novice-friendly and enjoyable for experienced runners. The path winds through lush woodlands with intermittent stretches of smooth tarred sections, allowing participants to enjoy a mix of terrain without significant elevation changes. Runners will be treated to breathtaking sea views throughout the race.
All finishers can look forward to receiving an official race medal as a memento of their accomplishment. Free parking is available at Silver Sands Public Car Park for all entrants who must provide their vehicle registration number during sign-up.
The event offers prizes for both overall male and female winners, along with first-place awards in age categories over 40, 50, 60, and 70 years old. Additionally, there will be spot prizes available on the day.
Race HQ is located at the Beach Ranger's Office near Silver Sands Beach’s public toilet block. Participants should arrive ready to run as no changing facilities are provided. The postcode for navigation purposes is KY3 0XB. Please note that parking in the beach front car park is strictly prohibited; it is reserved exclusively for cafe customers and disabled visitors.
Competitors, officials, volunteers, and spectators must respect local guidelines and adhere to community rules during the event. Organizers rely on the support of the local community to ensure a smooth-running race experience.
Pre-entry registration is mandatory with no refunds or deferrals offered. However, free transfers are permitted up until 7 days before the race date provided that all necessary details between runners involved have been arranged and communicated to the Race Organizer prior to any name changes.
In case of severe weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances necessitating route alterations or cancellation, organizers reserve the right to reschedule the event. All races comply with ARC rules under the Association of Running Clubs’ insurance coverage and permits.
