Shipwright's Run

Shipwright's Run returns to Summerside on June 20th, 2026, offering a variety of distances from the 10K run to the half marathon, all benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society.
The race begins at the picturesque Lot 14 Park in downtown Summerside. As runners gather on the morning of June 20th, they will find themselves surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of local wildlife awakening for another day. The park is located just a stone's throw from the bustling Confederation Avenue, offering clear directions to participants.
Shipwright's Run has been a staple in Summerside since its inception, celebrating its tenth year this June. Over 1000 runners participate each time, creating an atmosphere of unity and support as they raise funds for cancer research and care. The event not only brings the community together but also highlights the resilience and determination that are central to running.
The course takes participants through firm and slightly soft trails in Lot 14 Park, providing a challenging yet enjoyable run experience. The half marathon route includes two loops around the park before concluding with an exciting sprint back towards the start line. Elevation changes are minimal but noticeable, ensuring a varied and engaging journey for all runners.
On race morning, expect temperatures to range between 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) with a UV index of moderate at 5.6. The weather is expected to be sunny with some chance of light wind gusts, making it an ideal day for outdoor activities.
Registration for Shipwright's Run is now open at https://raceroster.com/events/2026/115348/shipwrights-run, with early bird pricing ending on June 1st. Participants who register by then will receive a complimentary race t-shirt.
Bibs can be picked up from the Summerside Community Centre between 17th and 19th of June during business hours. Remember to bring valid photo ID for bib collection.
The start line is set at Lot 14 Park on Confederation Avenue in downtown Summerside, with a minimum age requirement of 15 years old. First-time runners are encouraged to arrive early to get acclimated and familiarize themselves with the course layout.
