Shiitake 5K Run/Walk

On October 17th, 2026, the Shiitake 5k Race invites runners of all ages and abilities to explore the scenic beauty around Lake Madison in Madisonville, Texas. The race begins at 8:30am with a chip-timed course that will be revealed one month before the event.
Registration for adults is $45 per person until October 3rd, 2025; after this date, it increases to $50 up until the morning of the race. Packet pick-up options include Friday evening from 6pm - 7pm at the Truman Kimbro Center (113 W Trinity) or on the day itself.
For younger participants, there's also a Lil' Shiitake Kids Mile starting at 9:30am with an entry fee of $10. All kids who register for this event will receive their own medal upon completion.
Participants in both races can look forward to receiving a commemorative t-shirt if they sign up by September 18th, 2025; however, these are only available while supplies last and cannot be guaranteed after that date.
The race awards include medals for all 5k participants as well as prizes for the top three male and female finishers in various age categories: overall (ages 13+), 13-18 years old, 19-39 years old, 40-60 years old, and over 61. The Kids Mile also offers awards to its top three finishers.
