SFRC Women's Trail Half Marathon presented by The North Face
About the Event
Nestled within the breathtaking Marin Headlands, just minutes north of San Francisco, lies an annual half marathon that celebrates women's strength and resilience. This fall marks the debut of this brand-new course, designed to highlight some of the most iconic trails in the region. The race offers a challenging yet rewarding experience, with steep climbs followed by exhilarating descents through lush forests and along rocky cliffs. The event is part of SFRC’s ongoing "Get Her Over The Bridge" initiative, which aims to empower women not just physically but mentally as they conquer both literal and metaphorical challenges on the trails. This program encourages participants to embrace their journey towards self-discovery and confidence in a supportive community environment. Leading up to race day, four no-drop trail runs will be hosted by Trail Sisters of Marin (on August 8th, September 5th, September 19th, and October 3rd), providing an opportunity for runners to test The North Face demo shoes on the terrain while enjoying a meal from sponsors. These community group runs are open to all race participants and offer a chance to connect with fellow trail enthusiasts. SFRC partners closely with Integrated Stride Coaching to ensure that each runner is well-prepared for their big day. Participants receive access to customized training plans, tailored specifically to individual skill levels, along with three live virtual coaching sessions led by Coaches Kristen Schindler and Maddie Hart. These sessions cover everything from race-day strategy to mental performance techniques. To further support runners in achieving their best performance, each participant will also have the opportunity for a one-on-one consultation with an expert coach before the event. This personalized guidance helps address specific training needs and questions, ensuring that every runner feels confident and ready on race day. Additionally, exclusive discount codes are available post-event for those looking to continue their running journey under professional coaching. For runners traveling from San Francisco, charter transportation will be provided via shuttle services with convenient pickup and drop-off points around the city. This ensures a smooth logistics process so that participants can focus solely on the run ahead of them. SFRC is committed to making this event accessible for all women by offering childcare grants, helping remove barriers to participation and allowing more individuals to enjoy the empowering experience of running through Marin's stunning landscapes. This half marathon promises an unforgettable adventure in one of California’s most scenic regions. It celebrates not just athletic achievement but also personal growth and community support.
