Sevede Trail Run

The Sevede Trail Run 2026 is a community-focused trail event scheduled for May 2, 2026, in the historic town of Mariannelund, Sweden. Hosted by the Hässleby Ski and Orienteering Club (SOK), the race is designed to showcase the rugged beauty of the Småland highlands, challenging participants with technical terrain and significant elevation changes through deep, old-growth forests.

The geography of the course is quintessential Småland, characterized by "fairytale" forests, mysterious lakes, and a series of punishing steep climbs followed by rapid descent sections. The trails are predominantly narrow and technical, requiring runners to navigate roots and stones under the canopy of dark coniferous woods. In early May, the Swedish interior typically sees crisp spring weather with average highs of 12°C (54°F). While the ground is generally thawing, the shaded forest paths can remain damp and soft, making footwear with high-traction lugs essential for the long, pressured climbs around the Mariannelund area.

Logistically, the event hub is located at Slättvallen in Mariannelund, where number plate distribution begins at 8:00 AM on race day. The entry process is handled via email to the organizers, with a registration fee of 250 SEK, which remains open for late entries on-site. The children's race is a notable feature of the event, offered free of charge to encourage youth participation; all young finishers receive a medal and a banana.
