Whether you shuffle fast or shuffle slow, we welcome you to one of Wilmington’s oldest and FASTEST road races. The blazingly fast, flat course is good for those who run for speed or those who run for fun. This community race is open to all runners. Local students and their families are encouraged to run. All race proceeds benefit the Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship Program.

The population was 2,473 at the 2020 census. The town consists of a 4.6-mile (7 km) long beach island, an interior island called Harbor Island. It served as a filming location of Dawson's Creek, "The Summer I Turned Pretty". The movie Weekend at Bernie's was also partially filmed in Wrightsville Beach.
