Say My Name 5k & 1m Walk

The Say My Name 5k & 1 Mile Walk takes place on Saturday, 30 May 2026 at 8:00 AM EDT at American Legion Post 17, American Legion Road, Lewes, Delaware. This 11th annual event honors the courage of children who have been forced to fight cancer, raising awareness for childhood cancer research and care while supporting families in need. Participants run or walk the Cape Henlopen State Park Trail in Lewes. A virtual option is also available.

Friday, 29 May from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM: Packet pickup. Saturday, 30 May at 7:00 AM: Registration and packet pickup open, with coffee, juice, and snacks compliments of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. The Silent Auction opens at 7:00 AM. At 7:45 AM: Kiddie K starts. At 8:00 AM: Competitive 5K and competitive walkers start, followed by non-competitive/leisure walkers. All participants are asked to take note of the dedicated signage along the trail and speak that child's name as they pass each sign.

After the race, live music by Catch The Drift, light foods, beverages, and alcohol for those 21 and over (compliments of NKS) will be available at the American Legion pavilion. Awards will be announced by Races2Run. The Silent Auction closes after awards are announced.

Signs can be purchased for a donation of $25 each to honor a young loved one who needs our thoughts. Each sign will be displayed at the Say My Name event yearly. A QR code is available for sign purchase, followed by a form to customize the sign information.

All proceeds benefit Rylie's Smile Foundation. No dogs are allowed due to insurance liability. Bibs are non-transferable. No refunds on registrations.

Awards: Top finisher awards (Overall Male/Female and Overall Male/Female Masters) are scored by gun time; all other age groups are scored by chip (net) time. Awards to overall male/female winners. Awards to overall male/female masters. Medals to top 3 male/female in 10-year age groups from 9 and under to 80 and over. Awards to top 3 male/female walkers. Rylie's Smile Cup to the largest team.

Amenities include a race souvenir for each registrant and post-race refreshments including beer and seltzers for those age 21 and older. Results will be posted online during the race, with complete results posted after the race finishes. Photos will be posted on the Races2Run Facebook page following the event.
