SauwaldGiro is an exhilarating cycling tour that invites participants to explore the scenic landscapes of St. Roman on August 30, 2026. This unique event offers two challenging routes designed for cyclists who appreciate both distance and elevation.
Routes & Distances:
- Strecke A (powered by Tischlerei Grömmer): Cyclists will cover a demanding 105 kilometers with an impressive climb of 1,600 meters. This route is perfect for those seeking a rigorous challenge.

- Strecke B (powered by Zipfer): For those who prefer a more moderate adventure, the 61-kilometer loop with its ascent of 900 meters offers stunning views and manageable terrain.
Registration & Fees:
Participants can register online at www.time2win.at. Early bird discounts are available:
- €45 if you sign up by March 6, 2026
- €50 from June 1 to August 1, 2026
- €55 until August 23, 2026
Late registrations can be made online until August 27 or on-site up to 15 minutes before the start at an additional fee of €65.
Race Day Details:
The event begins with a mandatory briefing for all participants starting from St. Roman's town hall. For those unable to attend, it is crucial that you arrive early enough to join this important session just ten minutes prior to your respective start times:
- 8:45 AM for the longer route
- 9:00 AM for the shorter loop
Both routes converge back at St. Roman's town hall where a post-race celebration awaits, complete with complimentary pasta and beverages.
Prizes & Awards:
Competitors will be recognized in various age categories including AKU20 (16-19), AKU40 (20-39), AKU50 (40-49), AKU60 (50-59), AKU70 (60-69) and over 70. Additionally, the event celebrates team achievements with a prize for the largest group entry as well as an exclusive firm competition on Strecke A.
Logistics & Safety:
All participants are required to wear helmets at all times during the tour. The routes do not close roads; therefore, cyclists must adhere strictly to Austrian traffic regulations (StVO). Failure to comply may result in disqualification and legal action against offenders.
Chip rentals will be available for a €20 deposit which is refundable upon return of the chip. No refunds are given if the device isn't returned.
Facilities:
Changing rooms, showers, and restrooms can be found at St. Roman's elementary school. The award ceremony starts promptly at 14:00 in the gymnasium following the event conclusion.
