The race center is located at White Pine Beach, providing access to one of the warmest lakes in Greater Vancouver. However, in early May, the water temperature typically ranges from 13°C to 15°C, making wetsuits highly recommended for all participants. The event partners with Childhood Cancer Canada to raise awareness and funds for families affected by the disease. Mandatory race briefings occur at 8:45 AM, followed by the first swim waves at 9:00 AM.
