About the Event

15th Annual San Jacinto Texas Independence Fun Run
Saturday, March 7, 2026. 

Join us to "Run the Battlefield!" and experience the historic grounds where Texas won its independence.

Site Opens at 6:30 AM
Registration Opens at 6:45 AM
First Race at 7:30 AM

Participants may choose from a 10K run, 5K run, 5K walk, or 1K Kids Run.
The certified 10K and 5K courses will be chip-timed, and the top three male and female finishers in each age category will be recognized after the race.
Age categories: 19 & under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70+.

RACE START TIMES
10K: 7:30 a.m.
5K Run: 7:40 a.m.
5K Walk: 7:45 a.m.
1K Kids Run: 8:15 a.m.

REGISTRATION
Advance Registration (before January 31, 2026):
$30 - 10K
$25 - 5K Walk/Run 
$20 - 1K Kids

Feb. 1 to Race Day:
$35 - 10K
$30 - 5K Walk/Run
$25 - 1K Kids

VIRTUAL Run/Walk (shipping costs included): 
$40 (before January 31, 2026)
$45 (after February 1, 2026)

Can’t make it to the event? No problem! During registration, you can choose between:

Packet Pick-Up — pick up your bib, shirt, and commemorative medal in person, or

Packet Shipping — have everything mailed directly to your address.

If you select shipping, standard shipping is included in your registration fee. Packets will be mailed during the week leading up to March 7. Delivery times may vary. If your packet does not arrive before race day, we will have a bib available for you at packet pick-up.

PACKET PICK-UP
Location: San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield, 1 Monument Circle, La Porte, TX 77571
(Packet pick-up located inside the Monument. Use the entrance facing the reflection pool).

Dates & Times:
Thursday, March 5 – 12 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
Friday, March 6 – 12 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Event-day packet pick-up will be available, but please plan to arrive early to allow time for parking and any lines. Runners should pick up their bib and shirt before the event begins at 7:30 a.m. The packet table will remain open during the run for general questions.

RACE-DAY ARRIVAL & ROAD CLOSURES
For the safety of all participants, the main roads leading into the San Jacinto Battleground will close at 7:20 a.m. because these roads are part of the race route. After this time, vehicles will not be able to enter the site. Guests arriving after road closure will be directed to designated parking areas outside the race zone and will need to walk to the event area. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for parking and walking to the start line.


WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE 5K/10K?
All ages can participate in the 5K/10K events, with ages 2 and under free to accompany a family member.  Strollers and walkers are also welcome, we just ask that you start in the back of the corral at event start to allow runners ahead.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE 1K KIDS FUN RUN?
1K Kids Fun Run is limited to children 12 and under. One parent or guardian may escort the child along the route, but it is not required. Strollers are allowed. Older children will be put in the front, and strollers are to be in the back. We ask if you are pushing a stroller, be cautious of other children around you as you pass them.
