Rutland Water Trail Races

Experience the beauty of Rutland Water on July 11, 2027, with our trail races offering both 10k and Half Marathon distances. Nestled among lush countryside trails and picturesque tracks bordering the serene waters of Rutland Lake, this event promises a stunning backdrop for runners of all levels.
The half marathon challenges participants to navigate varied terrain while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Meanwhile, the shorter 10k route offers an ideal introduction to trail running with its scenic vistas and manageable distance. Both races are fully marked and marshaled to ensure safety and ease along the way.
Participants aged 16 for the 10k and 17 for the half marathon can look forward to professional first aid support, hydration stations throughout both courses, and a vibrant race atmosphere at Rutland Water’s picturesque shores. The event is part of Race Harborough's new trail series, where runners who complete all three venues—Pitsford Water in March, Grafham Water in October, and now Rutland Water in July—will earn exclusive medals and compete for prestigious trophies.
Registration opens early on race day at 07:00, with the half marathon starting promptly at 09:00 followed by the 10k at 09:15. Runners are encouraged to wear trail shoes or footwear with good traction and come prepared with their own hydration cups as part of Race Harborough's cupless initiative.
