About the Event

Step into the eerie and thrilling world of Patchogue, New York on October 24, 2026 for The Running Dead 5K Run/Walk. Organized by the Euclid Hose Company, this unique race invites participants to experience a night filled with zombies and excitement.
The event begins at 9AM sharp when runners are given a one-minute head start before hordes of undead creatures chase them through the streets of Patchogue. Participants can expect an engaging course that winds its way past local landmarks and businesses, transforming the town into a battleground between humans and zombies.
While running or walking, contestants must dodge relentless zombie pursuers while racing to collect flags placed along the route. These flags represent "brains" in this themed race, with participants aiming to gather as many as possible to secure top prizes. The atmosphere is electric, combining the thrill of competition with the fun of Halloween festivities.
Before the event, be sure to check out the official makeup tutorial provided by organizers to transform into your perfect zombie character for added excitement and immersion during the run.
