Run4Another 2026

The Run4Another 2026 is the 12th annual fundraising event organized by One4Another (O4A) International. This family-oriented run and walk takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Bechtel Park in Waterloo, Ontario. The primary mission of the event is to raise funds to provide life-changing medical treatments and surgeries for children in Uganda who are currently on waitlists for essential care.

The event offers three non-certified distances designed for both runners and walkers. A free t-shirt is provided to those who register by the late-April deadline. To maintain a community-focused and inclusive atmosphere, the race is intentionally untimed and unchipped.

Bechtel Park is a prominent green space in Waterloo, Ontario, characterized by wooded trails and open fields. In early May, the region typically sees moderate spring weather with average daytime highs of 17°C. While the park trails provide a mix of paved and natural surfaces, participants should expect potentially soft or damp ground depending on seasonal rainfall. The event features a unique "live race start" with a countdown broadcast directly from children at the O4A clinic in Uganda, connecting participants with the beneficiaries of their fundraising efforts.

Fundraising is the central focus of the event, with donations directly supporting medical interventions such as clubfoot treatment, hernia surgeries, and bone infection care. Top fundraisers have the opportunity to be matched with a specific child in need of surgery, receiving personal progress updates before and after the procedure. The organization facilitates fundraising through both online tools and physical pledge forms, allowing participants to involve their personal networks in the cause.

Race day activities begin with check-in and kit pickup at 8:30 AM, followed by a welcome ceremony at 9:30 AM. Although there is no chip timing, a large clock is positioned at the finish line for those tracking their own progress. Instead of traditional competitive trophies, the event presents "Fun Race Awards" such as Sunniest Smile, Most Social, and Most Fashionable. Post-race snacks and a social hour follow the awards presentation. On-site facilities include first aid, washrooms, and change areas.

The event coordinator, Glenn Pascoe, is available via phone or email for registration and team inquiries. The race is supported by local sponsors whose contributions help ensure that fundraising proceeds go directly toward the Ugandan medical waitlists. All registrations are considered final to maximize the impact of the donations collected for the medical missions.
