Run with the Goats

The Run with the Goats 50K is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Kennewick, Washington. Now in its eighth year, this unique and quirky event combines endurance running with a drinking challenge, set entirely on the single-track trails of Reata Canyon. Participants choose from three categories: "Beers" (one 16 oz. beer per lap), "Lights" (one 12 oz. beer per lap), or "Sobers" (12 oz. of a fizzy non-alcoholic beverage per lap). The race consists of seven 4.5-mile laps for a total of 31 miles, with each lap preceded by the consumption of the required beverage. To receive an official finish, runners must complete all seven laps and their respective drinks; otherwise, they are recorded as a DNF (Did Not Finish).

Kennewick is a city in Benton County, Washington, with a population of approximately 84,500 residents. Registration for the event is strictly capped at 50 entrants to maintain a grassroots, community feel. The start and finish area is located on private property on Jacob Ct., where a potluck and fire pit are provided for runners and volunteers. All participants receive a custom pint glass, and those in the beer categories are required to have a designated driver or ride-share arrangement. The race features local craft beer provided by Side A Brewing. Trail etiquette is emphasized due to the single-track nature of the course and its location on private land. Top historical performances include a time of 4:57:00 set by Jesse Lang in 2021. While the race is physically demanding, the atmosphere is intentionally lighthearted, with organizers encouraging participants to enjoy the post-race party even if they choose to DNF.
