Join us on August 29th at Shirley Clarke Franklin Park for the annual Run With Maud 5K event—more than just a race, it’s a powerful act of remembrance, unity, and purpose. Held in honor of Ahmaud Arbery, this event stands as a tribute to his life and a call to action for justice, equality, and lasting change. Whether you choose to run, walk, or simply show your support, your presence is a meaningful step toward building stronger, more inclusive communities.

The Run With Maud movement embodies the belief that every life matters and every community deserves to thrive. By participating, you’re helping to continue Ahmaud’s legacy through the work of the Ahmaud Arbery Foundation. Proceeds from the event support scholarships for aspiring students, youth empowerment programs, and social justice advocacy efforts aimed at creating a more equitable future.

The Run With Maud 5K will be held rain or shine. However, the occurrence of lightning or other severe weather in the vicinity of the event may result in a delay or cancellation.

Race officials closely follows weather forecast and other outside factors that may result in a cancellation or delay. Participants and volunteers will be alerted via email and social media at the first sign an event may be canceled or delayed.

In the event of lightning within eight miles of the event location, it is mandated the event be delayed for 30 minutes following the lightning strike. Participants, volunteers and spectators will be asked to take cover at a designated shelter or in their vehicles.

Please understand some outside factors that cause a delay or cancellation are unpredictable and may not allow for advanced warning. Race officials will always ensure and even err on the safety of its participants and volunteers as a matter of policy.

You can complete your 5K run or walk anywhere in the world — your neighborhood, a favorite trail, a treadmill, or even on vacation.
Run any time that works for you, but we encourage you to join in spirit with our in-person participants on Friday, August 23rd.
