Run the 502 2026

River City Races is delighted to present the 2026 Run the 502 series, an exhilarating lineup of fifteen races designed to cater to runners and walkers alike. This year's edition offers participants the opportunity to experience a diverse range of events across various terrains and settings throughout Louisville.
The highlight of participating in this series is earning the exclusive Run the 502 medal upon completion of at least six races from the calendar. Each race you finish will also grant you a unique finisher’s charm, featuring an emblem specific to that event, which can be attached to your special Run the 502 medal.
The series kicks off in April with the Love Like Deana 5k and continues through February of the following year with the Snowman Shuffle. Each race offers its own distinct flavor, from scenic park runs like The Parklands & WLKY 5k on June 6th to festive holiday-themed events such as Reindeer Romp on December 5th.
Participants will find a mix of traditional races and unique challenges throughout the year. For instance, the Dr. Ed Morgan/Kiwanis Grand Slam 4 Mile in July offers both runners and walkers an engaging course through local neighborhoods, while the Downtown Doubler event on September 13th provides options for different distances to suit various fitness levels.
The Polar Bear Grand Prix includes three races that come with extra perks when you register as a package. These events are marked by asterisks () in the calendar and offer additional goodies to those who sign up early, providing an added incentive to join this exciting series.
For runners looking to maximize their experience, there’s also the River City Races Six Pack option where the first 50 registrants can enjoy a 10% discount on six races for just $135. This is particularly appealing if you plan to participate in multiple events throughout the year.
