Run Past Cancer 5k and Fun Run

On Saturday, October 31, the Pine Creek Rail Trail in Wellsboro will come alive with runners and walkers of all ages for the Run Past Cancer event. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society in partnership with Tioga Running Club, this community-driven fundraiser aims to raise money to support cancer patients and their families in Tioga County.
Participants can choose between a 5K run or a more leisurely 1-mile walk/run along the scenic Pine Creek Rail Trail, which offers stunning views of nature. Registration is available up until race day at Wild Asaph Outfitters on Main Street in Wellsboro, with same-day registration also possible at Patterson Trailhead starting from 8:30 AM.
The event encourages participants to embrace a festive spirit by dressing in costumes for the Halloween theme, adding an extra layer of fun and creativity. Prizes will be awarded across various categories including Best Dressed, Funniest, Scariest, Most Unusual, Cutest, Best Fictional Character, Best Group, and Coolest Celebrity.
Registration fees are $25 for the 5K run and $15 for the 1-mile walk/run with a maximum fee of $30 per immediate family. All proceeds from this event will go directly to supporting cancer patients locally and funding initiatives that aim to eradicate cancer altogether.
