Run Like a King 5K 2026

WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE SUPPORT
We’re excited to host our 2nd annual 5K this October! This rain-or-shine event is perfect for individuals and families alike, welcoming everyone from casual walkers to enthusiastic runners in Quakertown Borough on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Connect with local fire departments and law enforcement, who will be on-site in support of Fire Safety Awareness Month. It’s a great opportunity to stay active, support a good cause, and learn more about keeping your home and loved ones safe.

This initiative aims to raise funds for our non-profit organization, King Family Memorial Foundation, Inc. (KFMF), which was established in response to a tragic event that occurred in Quakertown on Christmas morning in 2021. The King family, residing in Quakertown, faced a devastating house fire; while Kristin and Brady were lucky to survive, Eric (the father), along with their children, Liam and Patrick, tragically did not escape, nor did their dogs, Darla and Maggie.

Our mission is to provide assistance and support to those who have experienced the unimaginable loss of spouses, parents, children, and siblings due to house fires. We also aim to help those who have lost their homes and are left with only the clothes on their backs. Additionally, we want to educate the children in our community and surrounding areas about fire safety, ensuring they know how to react in such terrifying situations. We also aspire to offer financial support to local fire departments whenever possible, continuing to honor the legacy of Eric, Liam, and Patrick while providing ongoing support and love to Kristin and Brady.

RACE DAY TIME FRAME
5K Run wave begins at 9:30 AM
Walk/Stroller wave begins at 9:35 AM
1 Mile All Age Stroll starts directly after 5K Walk/Stroller 
1/2 Mile Kid’s Fun Run begins at 10:45 AM

Arrival Time: Please plan to arrive by 8:00 AM to allow time for parking and packet pickup.
 
PACKET PICK-UP
Friday, October 23rd, 3 PM - 7 PMM

Race Day Pickup: Race morning, beginning at 7:30 AM

Where: Check-in/registration tables near the starting line. You’ll receive your race bib, timing chip, and t-shirt (if you registered before the deadline). 

Race Day Reminders
Bring your bib and safety pins (provided at packet pickup). Wear weather-appropriate running gear. Water stations will be available along the course and at the finish line. Stick around afterward for awards, refreshments, and more!
Vendors, Kids Zone, Fire Prevention, First Responders, and more will be available for everyone!

PARKING INFORMATION
    Free parking at the corner of 4th & Mill and Quakertown Community Pool
    Please be mindful of on-street parking; Quakertown has moved the to Park Mobile App and everything all paid parking will be labeled – participants are responsible for any parking fees/fines incurred. 
    Quakertown Library has normal operating hours on race day; anyone who parks in this lot is subject to having their vehicle towed at their own expense.

There will be road closures starting at 7:00 AM.  Portions of Broad Street and adjacent streets downtown will be closed.  The Road Closure Map shows which roads will be closed, to help you plan accordingly.
There is a gravel lot across the street from the park, off of 4th Street, that can be used, noted in Yellow.
The Red box is the Library Parking Lot.  The city has advised that anyone parking in this lot will be towed.  DO NOT park in the Library Parking Lot.
If possible, please carpool to reduce congestion.
