McKnight Village is proud to host the 2025 Run for the Rec, a 5k race through our neighborhood to support the upkeep and revitalization of our community-owned park! This year will be a color run so get ready to layer your shirt with a rainbow of colors as you make your way through the course. Stick around after the race for raffles, refreshments, live music and games for the kids!
Participate for fun (untimed walk) or get competitive (5k running division, and 5k rucking division). Strollers and families are welcome. For those competing for time, 53 medals will be awarded across a variety of age groups and categories.
🎨 COLOR RUN INFO 🎨
There will be color powder sprayed at set points on the race course. The color powder is made with 100% food-grade cornstarch, baking soda, and FD&C approved food and cosmetic dyes. The color powder is safe, non-toxic and environmentally-friendly. The color powder easily washes out of most fabrics, skin and hair using only soap and water, but we still recommend leaving those fancy shoes and clothes at home.
During the run, if you don’t want color on your simply give a thumbs down to our color spreaders and run on the opposite side of the lane. They won’t run after you!

WHERE: Sunday, June 1st at 9am in the McKnight Village Rec, located at the end of Henderson Road.
REGISTRATION: Registration remains open until 8:30am on race day.
ARRIVAL TIME: We recommend arriving by 8:30am.
PARKING: Free in the rec. Arrive between 8 - 8:30am on race day and follow parking volunteers' instructions for parking.
RACE PACKET PICKUP: Friday 5/30 (5-7pm) or Saturday 5/31 (10am-noon). If you are not able to pick your bib, shirt, and bag before race day, you can also pick it up the morning of the event. However, we strongly encourage you to pick-up on Friday or Saturday.
