On Sunday, September 6th, join Global Surgery Amsterdam (GSA) for a meaningful 5 km run through the picturesque Amsterdamse Bos. The race starts at 14:30 with gathering at De Boswinkel and kicks off promptly at 15:00.
This event is not just about running; it's an opportunity to support better surgical care in Uganda, where millions lack access to safe medical operations. By participating or donating, you contribute directly to the BASICS program and Global Surgery initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare systems abroad through sustainable education models.
In Kiruddu National Referral Hospital and Mulago National Referral Hospital in Uganda, GSA collaborates with Interplast and local hospitals to improve burn wound treatments and care for open fractures. Your support helps train medical professionals and transfer knowledge that ensures lasting improvements long after the initial aid is provided.
After your run along Amsterdam's scenic Bosbaan trail, stick around until 18:00 for a lively gathering at De Boswinkel with drinks in the sun and inspiring talks from individuals who have firsthand experience working on these initiatives. They will share their stories and photos from Uganda, giving you insight into how your contribution makes an impact.
