Run for a Resident 2026

Race morning will find participants gathering under clear blue skies with temperatures hovering around an average of 23.5°C, feeling just as comfortable on your skin due to low humidity levels at 63.4%. The course is known for being hard and dry, ensuring a smooth run despite any slight chance of light rain—just two millimeters expected throughout the day.
The Run for a Resident has been running strong since its inception in 2015, with thousands of runners participating each year to support local residents in need. This race stands as more than just a physical challenge; it's an annual tradition that strengthens community bonds and raises funds for essential services within Sutton.
For the course layout, participants will start at the entrance of Sutton Community Home park and navigate through winding paths before reaching the finish line back at the same location. The terrain is mostly flat with minimal elevation changes, making it suitable for both seasoned runners and newcomers alike. Along the route, you'll encounter notable features such as benches where families gather on weekends.
Weather conditions are expected to be warm but comfortable, with a high of 29°C and a low of 18°C during race time. The UV index is very high at 8.0, so sunscreen will be your best friend for the day. Light wind speeds of around 14.5 km/h can make running slightly more challenging.
The event offers two distances: a 1 Mile (1.6K) feeing $30 and a 5K race costing $40 to register. Race bibs will be distributed on-site from 5:30 AM to 6:45 AM at the same Sutton Community Home park entrance.
