Run-Bike-Fun 2026: The Most Entertaining Team Relay Race of Friesland!
Join the fun and excitement as teams from across Friesland gather for Run-Bike-Fun, taking place on October 4th, 2026. This unique team relay event promises a day filled with camaraderie, scenic beauty, and plenty of laughs.
Teams will consist of either two to four members who rotate between running and cycling throughout the course. The race begins at 10:00 AM sharp from Sneek's Sportpark Schuttersveld. Each participant has their role; one team member runs while others cycle alongside them on a bicycle equipped with a vest bearing the start number, ensuring route adherence and safety for all.
The total distance covered by teams is 37 kilometers through the picturesque landscapes of Friesland’s Southwest region known as Súdwesthoek. The course winds past charming villages, lush meadows, and scenic paths alongside numerous waterways characteristic to this part of Holland. Teams will also pass several towns associated with the famous Elfstedentocht ice-skating route.
Along the way, teams can enjoy various "fun stations" where they'll receive snacks and get their event cards stamped as proof of completion at each checkpoint. These stops are designed not only for rest but to add an element of enjoyment and team spirit.
Participants may switch roles among runners and cyclists as often as desired during the race, providing flexibility based on individual preferences or energy levels within teams. Upon completing the course, all members will come together once more in Sneek's Sportpark Schuttersveld where they'll finish by running one final lap around the track before parking their bicycles.
Following the event, hungry participants are invited to grill up a hamburger and enjoy refreshing drinks provided for everyone who completes the race.
