Rotherby 8

The Rotherby 8, part of the Leicestershire road race league, invites runners to explore the picturesque Wreake Valley on its rolling 8-mile course. Starting and finishing at Rotherby Lodge Farm, this scenic route winds through charming villages like Gaddesby and Ashby Folville.
Runners begin their journey down an access track from Rotherby Lodge Farm before turning left onto Gaddesby Lane towards the village of Gaddesby. After descending Park Hill to a T-junction with Ashby Road, they turn left again into Ashby Folville. The route continues along Ashby Folville Road over a bridge and up a hill to Pasture Lane, where it turns left and then right back onto Rotherby Lane for the return journey.
The course offers varied terrain, challenging runners' endurance as they navigate rolling hills and quaint village streets. Participants will enjoy stunning countryside views throughout their run. Free parking is available at the start/finish line along with toilets and refreshments. Water stations are also provided on the route to keep everyone hydrated during this rewarding race experience.
As part of the event rules, headphones are strictly prohibited; any runner spotted wearing them will be disqualified immediately. The road closures for the first two miles mean all participants should arrive at least 45 minutes before the start time to ensure they can begin promptly and safely.
