Rosy Cheeks 5K

On December 12, 2026, the vibrant town of Mount Airy will host the 19th Annual Rosy Cheeks 5K and Mount Airy Police Department Toy Drive. The race begins at Riverside Park on 350 Riverside Drive with participants setting off at 9:00 AM to run along the scenic Ararat River Greenway. This festive event invites runners of all ages, offering a special Kid's 1/2 Mile Jingle Jog Fun Run for younger racers starting at 10:00 AM.
Runners can choose between "Team Naughty" and "Team Nice" t-shirts upon registration or purchase by November 29th. The race not only celebrates the holiday spirit but also supports local children through a toy drive organized in partnership with the Mount Airy Police Department. Participants are encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift, card, or donation for elementary school-age, middle school-age, and high school students.
The course winds along the picturesque river greenway, featuring clear signage throughout its 3.1-mile route before turning back at a designated point. Runners will enjoy crisp winter air and the beauty of Mount Airy's natural setting as they compete in categories ranging from overall male and female winners to various age groups. Prizes are awarded for top finishers along with an additional award sponsored by Food Lion, recognizing the best holiday-themed running outfit.
