For 40 years Arthurdale Heritage has worked to preserve the history of the nation's first New Deal Homestead Community, started under the Roosevelt Administration. AHI was created by volunteers, many of whom were original homesteaders, to preserve their family and community history. AHI has since become essential to maintaining northern West Virginia's economy through tourism and promoting education about the Depression Era.
