February 13, 2027 marks the standalone debut of the Rocky 50 Trail Race, an exhilarating and scenic trail running experience nestled deep within east Texas. The course offers runners a challenging yet rewarding journey through Huntsville State Park’s diverse terrain.
The race features three distances: the grueling 50-mile ultra marathon, the equally captivating 50km trek, and a half-marathon option for those looking to test their skills on shorter but no less demanding trails. Each route is designed with varying elevations that showcase the park's natural beauty while ensuring runners encounter a mix of exposed tree roots, lush pine forests carpeted in soft needles, picturesque bridges, and serene lakeside views.
A highlight of the event is its well-stocked aid stations manned by enthusiastic volunteers who provide essential support throughout each runner’s journey. Participants can also look forward to receiving unique race swag; those registering before January 5 will receive a specially designed t-shirt, while late registrants will be offered an array of other items such as trucker caps or neck gaiters.
To ensure the experience remains intimate and enjoyable for all participants, there is a strict limit on the number of runners allowed in each category. Early registration is highly recommended to secure your spot at this unique trail running event that promises both natural beauty and competitive spirit.
