ReRun 5K

The ReRun 5K is a sustainability-focused evening race taking place on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Tower Grove Park in St. Louis, Missouri. Organized with a "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" mission, the event is designed to minimize environmental impact by eliminating gas-powered generators and single-use plastics. Instead of new materials, the race utilizes recycled bibs, timing chips, and "vintage" swag from previous events.

Eco-Friendly Initiatives and Partnerships

The event incorporates several green measures to support its environmental pledge. A portion of every registration is donated to Forest ReLeaf of Missouri, an organization dedicated to community reforestation; notably, the top three male and female finishers are awarded live trees donated by the charity. Additionally, Open Space STL manages on-site waste sorting (compost, recycle, landfill), and Sneakers 4 Good collects old athletic footwear to keep shoes out of landfills. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and use public transportation or carpooling to reach the park.

Course and Logistics

The 5K features an out-and-back course starting from the Sons of Rest Shelter within the historic Tower Grove Park. Packet pickup begins on-site at 4:45 PM on race day. All participants receive a biodegradable race sticker and their choice of leftover swag items. For those participating virtually, a "mystery swag" item is shipped to their location. The event maintains a community atmosphere, inviting runners to enjoy a post-race picnic in the park following the finish.
