Reaper's Run 5k Halloween Fun Run

Reaper’s Run – Reap the Night Halloween 5K is set to bring a unique blend of fitness and festive fun to Anstruther this October. Organized by Reaper’s Rum, which owns The Ship pub at the heart of town, this inaugural race invites runners to celebrate Halloween with a spirited twist.
The event takes place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM outside The Ship Pub in Anstruther. Participants will embark on three laps around the picturesque harbor and up Lovers Lane, completing a total distance of 5K (3.1 miles). This scenic route not only offers stunning views but also pays homage to local heritage; runners pass by areas with deep connections to East Neuk's fishing community.
With its early afternoon start time, the race captures the last light of day before transitioning into an evening celebration full of Halloween charm and excitement. Runners are encouraged to embrace the spooky spirit through elaborate costumes, with prizes awarded for the most creative outfits. Every finisher will receive a specially designed Reap the Night medal as a keepsake.
The event is not just about running; it's also about community and camaraderie. Music will fill the air along the harbor route, providing an energetic soundtrack to keep runners motivated throughout their journey. Once the race concludes at The Ship Pub, the festivities continue inside with live entertainment and lively conversation.
Reaper’s Rum adds a competitive edge by offering prizes for both male and female winners: each champion receives a bottle of Reaper's Rum as a token of appreciation for their effort and determination. Additionally, runners can look out for spot prizes such as hoodies along the course to enhance the experience with extra surprises.
Registration is open until Thursday, October 29th, at £12 per entry. This fee includes access to free drinks at The Ship Pub after crossing the finish line, making it a rewarding and memorable event for all participants. Entry fees collected will be donated entirely to support the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution), adding an element of charity to this festive run.
For those attending with friends or family members under 18 years old who must be accompanied by adults, soft drinks await at the finish line instead of alcoholic beverages. Parking in Anstruther can sometimes be challenging; organizers recommend using the car park behind The Coop and jogging over to reach the race start point for a seamless arrival experience.
Reaper’s Run promises an unforgettable Halloween adventure with its blend of athletic challenge, festive spirit, and community celebration. Don your most creative costumes, gather your friends, and get ready to Reap the Night in Anstruther on October 31st!
