Rattray Beaver Run – Dam Tough!
Half Marathon & 10K Races | September 20th, 2026
Organized by Blairgowrie and District Rotary Club for the third consecutive year, the Rattray Beaver Run Half Marathon and 10K offers runners an undulating yet scenic route through rural Scotland. Kilmac continues its generous sponsorship of these events for a second year.
The half marathon course winds along quiet country roads with breathtaking views, ending on rough terrain that adds to the challenge. The equally challenging 10K race follows similar undulations but covers less distance, providing an exhilarating run through picturesque landscapes.
All proceeds from both races will benefit Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) and five local mental health charities: Mantalk, Andy’s Man Club, Happy to Chat, Women's Walk & Talk, and The Grief Hub.
Registration is open until midnight on September 13th, with entry fees of £25 for the half marathon and £20 for the 10K race.
Participants must register by 8:00 am at the Community Connect Centre beside Rattray Primary School to receive their race numbers. The start line will be near this venue as well, with the half marathon starting at 9:15 AM followed by the 10K race beginning at 10:00 AM.
The courses are not licensed by Scottish Athletics and therefore do not offer affiliated discounts or official times for runners who exceed the cut-off limits of three hours fifteen minutes for the Half Marathon and two hours for the 10K.
Parking is available near Rattray Primary School, High Street, PH10 7DG.
The event features water stations every few kilometers to keep participants hydrated during their run. Runners must adhere strictly to safety guidelines by staying on the left side of roads unless instructed otherwise and displaying race numbers prominently.
Post-race refreshments will be served at Rattray Primary School after both races conclude, with a prize-giving ceremony scheduled for approximately 12:15 PM. Prizes are awarded based on age categories and team finishes in addition to overall male and female winners.
Finishers of either distance receive bespoke medals and quality snoods as mementos from their challenging run through scenic Scotland.
All participants must adhere to the event rules, including no entries on race day, no number transfers or refunds. Dogs, prams, pushchairs are not allowed due to course conditions; headphones should be avoided unless medically necessary.
