Runners of all ages are invited to participate in this scenic race along the coast of Aberystwyth. For those aged 16 and over, an exhilarating 11.7-kilometer course awaits at 11:30 AM. This challenging route begins and ends on the picturesque Aberystwyth Promenade, offering stunning views of the sea throughout much of its length. The senior race includes significant climbs up Pen Dinas and Constitution Hill, adding a layer of difficulty to an otherwise mostly road-based journey. Participants will experience both paved surfaces and well-established off-road paths during their run, making for a varied terrain that tests endurance while providing breathtaking vistas at every turn. Younger runners aged 7-15 have the opportunity to compete in either the Junior race starting at 10:30 AM or the Secondary category. The junior event is designed for those under 12 years old and covers a distance of 1.77 kilometers, while the secondary division for participants aged 12 and over spans 2.57 kilometers. Both races begin and conclude near the bandstand in Aberystwyth's town center, with the Junior race taking runners on part of Constitution Hill’s ascent before returning to the starting point. The Secondary category challenges its competitors by scaling the full climb of Constitution Hill, providing a taste of what older racers will encounter later that day. This event promises an unforgettable experience for all participants and spectators alike, combining local history with natural beauty in one thrilling race weekend along the Welsh coast. Runners can look forward to engaging with their community while enjoying some of Aberystwyth's most iconic landmarks.

About Bandstand
Learn more about the host city, Bandstand.
A bandstand is a circular, semicircular or polygonal structure set in a park, garden, pier, or indoor space, designed to accommodate musical bands performing concerts. A simple construction, it both creates an ornamental focal point and also serves acoustic requirements while providing shelter for the changeable weather, if outdoors. In form bandstands resemble ornamental European garden gazebos modeled on outdoor open-sided pavilions found in Asian countries from early times.
