Ram Party

The Ram Party Trail Runs take place against the dramatic backdrop of Colorado Springs' Front Range, offering runners an unforgettable high-altitude adventure on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Organized by Aravaipa Running, this endurance event features a variety of challenging courses that cater to both trail running enthusiasts and ultra-distance athletes.
The races start early in the morning with staggered starts for each category, allowing participants to enjoy the serene mountain setting as they embark on their respective journeys. The Rampart Reservoir and Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort serve as key locations, providing stunning views of Pikes Peak while challenging runners with significant elevation changes across multiple distances.
Participants can choose from several categories that range in difficulty:
- 55 Miler: A long-distance endurance loop starting at 6:00 AM.
- 50K Ultra: An out-and-back course characterized by its vert-heavy profile, beginning at 6:30 AM.
- 24K Trail Race: A mid-distance loop that starts promptly at 7:00 AM.
- 15K Trail Run: The shortest option with a short-distance loop starting at 7:30 AM.
- 60K Ultra: This point-to-point race begins in the mountains and features an extensive descent along Rampart Range Road, kicking off at 8:00 AM.
Each course is marked by its rugged mountain terrain and substantial elevation shifts. The trails wind through alpine forests and exposed ridges, reaching a peak altitude of around 9,500 feet. Runners will experience the cooler temperatures found in these higher elevations, making warm layers and rain jackets essential gear for unpredictable weather conditions.
The Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort acts as the central hub for race day activities, hosting start/finish lines and providing lodging discounts to participants using promo code "ARAVAIPA" during May 13th through 19th. All runners who cross the finish line receive a unique award, while top male and female finishers in each distance are recognized with specialized awards.
Registration for this event closes on Monday, May 11, 2026, so early sign-up is recommended as Aravaipa events often reach capacity well before race day. The Ram Party Trail Runs promise an exhilarating experience that combines breathtaking scenery and challenging terrain, making it a must-attend event for trail runners seeking adventure in the Colorado mountains.
