Race #1 Kuitpo Forest takes place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, starting at 7:30 AM GMT+9:30 from Kuitpo Hall at 772 Brookman Rd in Kuitpo, South Australia, Australia. This trail running event travels through the ancient lands of the Kaurna and Peramangk peoples in Kuitpo Forest, located in the Mount Lofty Ranges near Meadows, featuring distances of 24km (Long), 18km (Medium), 11km (Short), and a free 1km Kids' Cross-Country run through scenic pine plantations and native bushland on forestry roads and singletrack.

Event Logistics and Participant Information:

• Course Cutoff: All runners/walkers must cross the finish line by 11:30 AM or receive a DNF (did not finish). You must stay in front of the course sweepers at all times. Cutoff will be strictly enforced.
• Walkers: Welcome only in the 11km event to ensure safe return and accountability by course closure time.
• Drink Stations: Water and lollies at all drink stations. No cups are supplied – you must bring your own drinking container.
• Post-Race Perks: Free fruit, nibbles, world-famous chocolate brownies, sponsor tents with running and outdoor gear, quick massage by Botanic Health, and a member-only random draw with fantastic prizes donated by sponsors.
• UTMB Index & ITRA: The 24km Long course is a UTMB Index race and ITRA National Challenge event. (Courses do not attract ITRA points.)
• Kids' Run: Free cross-country run for youngsters (approximately 1-1.5 km) close to the finish line. Sign up at the registration tent on race day. A committee member or delegate leads the run, with a tail runner in place – however, all kids are preferred to be accompanied by an adult.
• Registration Deadlines: Late entries are not accepted. You must enter by 5:00 PM on the Thursday before the event. To have your name printed on your bib, you must enter by Thursday, May 21 at 5:00 PM.
• Discounts: Kids U15 receive reduced entry fees for all distances. Members receive a super early bird discount automatically at checkout for the first 2 days of the registration period only (not extended).
• Parking: Depending on entry numbers and ground saturation, parking may be restricted. Carpooling is encouraged. Detailed parking instructions are provided in the race briefing.
• Awards & Random Draw: Placegetters for each event receive a medal. Medal presentations occur shortly after the arrival of the final 3rd placed male and female runner in each event. The members-only random draw takes place at approximately 11:00 AM – you must be present or still on course to receive your prize.
• Course Maps: Routes and maps are subject to frequent change due to forestry logging operations. Check back frequently and download 1-2 days before the event.
• Territory Acknowledgment: The event travels through the ancient lands of the Kaurna and Peramangk peoples.
• History: Kuitpo Forest was established in 1898 to ensure a sustainable timber resource for South Australia – the first of several forest plantations in the area. The reserve covers 3,600 hectares, including plantation and native bushland, managed for sustainable commercial forestry while also providing for conservation of native flora and fauna and community recreation.

As you traverse through towering trees, breathe in the scent of the pines and keep a sharp lookout for pixies dancing under the Amanita muscaria (bright red mushrooms).
• Location: Kuitpo Forest is situated in the South Mount Lofty Ranges, 45 minutes' drive from Adelaide, near the township of Meadows.
• Course Features: Breathtaking views, medals for all placegetters, drink stations with nutrition, and world-famous brownies at the finish.
